Mommy & Me Balloon Plop Painting
Join us for a morning of BIG, messy outdoor art! During Mommy & Me Balloon Plop Painting, children and their grown-ups will work together to transform a large canvas using balloons, washable paint, and lots of movement. Instead of paintbrushes, children will dip, cover, plop, bounce, roll, squish, and drag balloons through different colors of paint. They’ll get to experiment with pressure, movement, color mixing, and cause and effect while creating a one-of-a-kind collaborative piece. This is process art, which means there’s no picture to copy and no expectation for the finished artwork to look a certain way—the experience of creating, experimenting, moving, and getting messy is the entire point! Our activities are child-led and neurodivergent-friendly, so children are welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable to them.

We take care of the messy details so families can enjoy the experience together! All paint, balloons, art materials, protective children’s ponchos, and ground/foot protection are included with registration. After all that painting and play, children and their grown-ups will enjoy a pizza lunch together, which is also included in the registration price. The project is planned for outdoors, weather permitting, so come dressed comfortably and ready for paint, movement, fresh air, and plenty of mess. Just bring yourselves—we’ll provide the art supplies, protection, and lunch!
