Make Flint Win!
The Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is hosted by the Salvation Army as a fundraiser for our L.I.F.E. Center located at 1475 Coldwater Road in Clio on July 26 and 27 on the Flatlot in downtown Flint
This event is one of our biggest events and not only supports the work we do for children in the community, but supports our local economy. When Flint and Genesee County join forces we are unstoppable. We host afterschool programs including dance, basketball, youth choir, violin, arts and crafts, cooking classes, tutoring, game and music production with a recording studio. We also offer tutoring and character building, along with food programs that provide snacks and dinner, as well as public food pantry. Since we began just over two years ago, we have had close to 500 children come through the program and we are seeing a real impact in these children, from increased citizenship and scholastic improvements. ADMISSION INFO
To participate in the tournament a four person team is $180, registration a four person team in multiple age categories. To attend the event is FREE. However, there will be many businesses open and food trucks, and guests are encouraged to partake of our lovely Downtown establishments…find your new favorite restaurant or food truck, boutique or gallery. Trophies are awarded on day two of the event. And there will also be an Educational Fair alongside our event overseen by GEAR Up. Volunteers are needed for:
Check in/Registration Table: starting at 6:35 am and ending by 5 or 6 pm (2 shifts am and pm)
Court Assistants (Score keepers/Timekeepers): 7 am and ending by 6 pm (2 shifts AM and PM)
We also need volunteers to help with set-up and break down.
